MND plans to review and update the Code of Animal Welfare in the near future, including making changes to minimum stadards and best practices for those in animal-related business, including pet groomers. One such suggested change being considered is requiring pet grooming businesses to have CCTV recordings.
Pet grooming is a business built on trust, and we welcome initiatives that enhance transparency and accountability in the pet care business, especially since it aligns with our overall philosophy of redefining pet care through giving customers that assurance that their pets are well-taken care of throughout the grooming process.
All of our outlets have CCTVs installed, and our staff regularly go through training and reviews on best practices for animal handling to ensure everyone is kept up to date.
These suggested measures will further elevate the level of professionalism in the pet grooming industry. In order to provide such high quality service, it requires tighter restrictions, a more skilled workforce and stronger institutional foundations.
However, with rising measures come increased compliance and operational costs, which both businesses and consumers alike will have to bear.
Thanks!
